Bought Parallax theme but can't edit
Permalink Browser Info Environment
I bought the Parallax theme on the Concrete5 marketplace page with the intention of adding to our existing site as a landing page. the rest of the site has a bootstrap theme but we only applied the parallax theme to one page. I downloaded, installed and associated the theme to our development server and am able to see it just fine in the themes section of the dashboard. I placed the theme type to the page with no issues. However, when I enter into edit mode I am unable to edit anything. The editable areas do not respond. I tested it in Google Chrome and Firefox and IE11 - same result. I notice a javascript:void(0); when trying to click the edit button after I have entered into editing mode.
Our plan was to test it on our development server before releasing and using the theme on our production site.
We are hoping you might have some suggestions? Thanks!

Hello and thanks for the reply. Looking at it, I see that when I put the page into edit mode I get a javascript error. I assume this is because the proper javascript assets aren't being loaded. Looking deeper, it looks like our bootstrap theme is overriding the default header and footer and omitting the core required bootstrap asset. We likely need to add this asset back in but I don't want to affect the rest of the site. Any suggestions on how to proceed?

Hi,
I assume clearing the cache did not help?
Yes, overriding the default header and footer could be the problem. Can you check if jQuery is being properly loaded? If it's not being loaded, or if it's being loaded twice, that could be the problem.
Is your dev server online? If so, if you want to send me a link I can have a look.
Also, if you could send me a screenshot of the Javascript error and the source code of the page that's throwing the error, that could help.
One last question: are you applying the Long Story Short Parallax theme to an existing page? (then maybe one of the blocks is interfering with theme theme). You could try creating an empty page form scratch and applying the theme to it, to see if you get the same error?

there are a couple of things you could try:
1. Clearing the cache: try clearing concrete5 cache, or even disabling it temporarily, to see if that fixes it.
2. Check for Javascript errors: if you are using Chrome, select Inspect Element (press F12) and see if you have any Javascript errors. Maybe there is an add-on or some custom javascript that's throwing an error or interfering with the theme.
If you search the forums for this type of issue, it usually comes down to one of these.
Also, if you want to give me access to your site, I can have a look (you can send me temporary access through a private message).
Obviously, if you can not get the theme to work, I will grand you a refund.
Hope this helps,
Jordi
