Feature Request / Idea for future release

Permalink Browser Info Environment
In working on my new site I've looked at others for inspiration and one thing I've noticed in a lot of full background image website layouts is a pattern overlay being used on images to add dramatic flare and in some cases reduce the distraction of that background from the content over it.

Now, while this can be achieved at the user level before use on their website by simply editing the image in Photoshop or what have you to add this effect with a pattern overlay be it a dot, hex, fractal or otherwise it should be reasonably doable in CSS without having to edit each image you want to do this with and without having to upload multiple versions of the same images in case you want to use it elsewhere in your site.

What I'm thinking is implement the CSS layer trickery into the theme and add an option to the "Edit Area Layout" option for "Background" with a drop down of some different layer overlay effects that users can apply like dotted (maybe a small set of different sizes), hexagon/honeycomb, etc.. with some possibly options for opacity and size as allowed by css or your willingness to make a library of different images to overlay.

I've attached some examples of what I'm talking about :)

Thoughts?

Wish I would have given this a better title... Sorry about that...

Hi,

I really like the idea, thanks for posting it!

Soon the theme will get to version 1.0 and I plan to add some new features, it would be nice having this as an option.

I'll let you know if I'm able to make it work.
