spacing of site name and header nav

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Hi, David.

Any easy way to re-proportion the site name and the header nav so that the nav bar takes up less room, leaving more space for the site name and logo? I have dug around in the files and turned up a couple of possibilities, but nothing I want to mess with without checking with you first. I'm only using a handful of top-level pages and would like to get some more elbow room for the logo.

Cheers,
Andrew

Hi Andrew,

Yes, you should be able to squeeze some extra room up there, if you go to:

▸ packages ▸ metris_theme ▸ blocks ▸ autonav ▸ templates ▸ drop_down_nav ▸ css - sooperfish-theme-silver.css

On line 14 you should see this piece of code:

.c5wrap ul#nav li a
{
    padding: 91px 20px 10px 20px;
    text-decoration: none;
    background: #fff;
    margin-left: 6px;
}

if you adjust the two 20px sizes down a bit, in the padding declaration, it should shave some size of the nav bar.

The logo area you shouldn't need to adjust at all as it should just expand to fit the content, as long as it doesn't bump into the nav of course.

Of course plan be is to increase the entire width of the site, but that will be a real headache, i'm sorry to say.

hope that helps a little.

Regards

David
