background Photo Opacity

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Love the Modena theme! Use it all the time.

Quick question. One of the things that's really time-consuming is darkening images in Photoshop to be used as background images over white text in various columns. Is there a way, specifically with a column background image, to add color over it and control the opacity of the color, thus darkening the image? If not, is there some handy CSS I can apply?

Hi Tom,

Thanks a lot for your purchase. it's much appreciated.

There isn't a way to do this, unfortunately, as you would need a container that holds your background image, then a container in front of it, to hold the background colour that is absolutely positioned, we have done this in the hero unit block, but that was custom coded to make that possible, in Concrete5 it's not possible to do, as you need the extra markup as well as custom CSS.

Sorry, its probably not what you wanted to hear, but you are currently doing things the best way, by adding the colour mask to your images directly.

Best regards

David

Thanks David, that's what I figured but thought I'd check.
