Header and Logo images

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Two questions:
1. How do I change the header image on the home page? The demo site show the home page with a tall blue header and the other pages with a short one. I see both files in the directory on the server but can't figure out how to change it using Concrete5.

2. I want to add my graphical logo to the site, instead of using just text. How do I do that?

Thanks in advance for your help.

1. Change what exactly? The blue background? Or the image inside of it on the homepage?

On the homepage, use the homepage page type (put page in edit mode, click design, select 'homepage'). Then in the header area, add the "power slider" block. That's how you insert the slideshow with text.

If you're talking about the actual blue background itself, then that's part of the design itself. You can't change that unless you have an image to replace it with and know a little bit of CSS. I also offer a service to change the background or color scheme at a flat price.

2. You can use whatever you'd like as your logo. Go to your global scrapbook, add a block (i assume you want to add an image block) and then rename it to "My_Site_Name". It will auto-awesomely be placed in the logo area.

Michael, thanks for the quick reply. The logo issue is now solved -- thanks.

On the blue header issue (not the slide show), I see the following CSS code that refers to the bgVignetteShell.jpg image for the home page. And that image is indeed in the ../img directory. So why does the home page show the bgVignetteShell-sub.jpg image?

/** Vignette Styles ***********************************************/
/******************************************************************/

#vignetteShell { background: #070201 url(../img/bgVignetteShell.jpg) top center no-repeat; height: 478px; padding: 1px 0; }
body.subpage #vignetteShell { height: 145px; background-image: url(../img/bgVignetteShell-sub.jpg); }

Thanks in advance for your help.

Gotcha - so you need to go to themes & pages. and inspect the theme.

Then go to your homepage, edit mode. hit the design button up top, then change the page type to homepage.

Hope that solves it :)
