Have you figured out why there's a long load time? It doesn't appear to be the fonts.
Also, while the page is loading, the header text (page title) distorts before getting to the right font. How can we prevent this?

Could be a number of things. Hosting on a shared server would slow it down. Have you tried turning caching on? definitely not the fonts though.
I have the "Basic cache" turned on. Do you recommend turning the "Full Page Cache" on too?
Have you found out why the header text (page title) distorts before getting to the correct font? Is it because it takes long to download the font?
Any other recommendations on reducing the amount of time the site takes to load?
