Hi,
This is not related to this theme, check this topic and workaround suggested by 'toxicum', it should fix the issue.

I saw > "Workaround, that works for me (c5 8.1.0): application/config/concrete.php"
<code>
return array(
'external' => array(
'news_overlay' => false,
),
);
</code>

Yes it works momentarily.
The correct path is:
application / config / generated_overides / concrete.php

But with each change in "Pixel option", "false" is overwritten. and you have to change the value again.

In short, it is not the absolute solution .. but it helps.
Thank you for informing me why this happens if you find.

Hi,
You should put that on:
\application\config\concrete.php
The file at '\application\config\generated_overrides\concrete.php will be overriden by c5 everytime you save an options page.
