Basic layout problem

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Hi. The site neevephotography.uk is being created and you can see that when the site is scaled down to mobile size, the main heading moves out of the title area into the image area and the spacing between the two words means that they overlap. Being a beginner with C5, I am not sure how to modify this behaviour. I imagine that it is a change to the CSS that is required.

Can you assist, please?

Hi
We are currently out of the office and will return August 6th. I just had a look at your site and I think with a long name like that you may be better off using an image for the logo; however, if you want to use text you could try using a smaller font size. The css would be something like:
div.ccm-page a.navbar-brand {
font-size: 22px;
}

Please let me know if you need more help and I can look at it in more detail on our return.

If you are unfamiliar with concrete5, to add custom css when logged into your site click on the cog at top left and then design > customise. Then scroll down to bottom of the left menu and you will see where to add custom css.

Thanks,
Jennifer

Thanks for the suggestion. It is an acceptable workaround for the time being. I think the main point is that when the site is resized small enough, whatever the font size the text "jumps down" and overlaps the image. This could be because the re-flowing is making way for the space reserved for the site logo.

So, when you return, it would be appreciated if you could take a look. Thank you.

Hi
Apologies for the delay in response, we had some problems with internet. In regards to your logo, I think if you adjust the font sizes a bit, then you can make it fit on mobile view.

Try something like this in custom CSS:

div.ccm-page a.navbar-brand {
font-size: 14px;
}
@media (min-width:767px) {
div.ccm-page a.navbar-brand {
font-size: 22px;
}
}

The first part is the size on mobile (14px) and the second part is the logo size on tablets and computers. You may need to adjust these numbers to suit your requirements, but if your font size is small enough it should not go on the next line in mobile view.

If this doesn't answer your question, please email us at [email protected] or send us a pm with more details of what you are trying to achieve.

Thanks,

Jennifer
