installing salix

Permalink Browser Info Environment
i'm running concrete 5 perfectly with installed fruitfull theme. I had no problems installing the fruitfull theme in dashboard. After uploading the "salix" files to the /package/ location I get:

file_exists(): open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/sites/beachbastards.nl/www/packages/icon.png/controller.php) is not within the allowed path(s): (/usr/local/reserved/index.php:/usr/local/reserved/prepend.php:/sites/beachbastards.nl/:/tmp)

something with openbase_dir. But how come the previous install of fruitfull went perfect?

Hi,

I'm not sure what you did when you installed Fruitful, but with Salix it looks as though the path is wrong (i.e. the package has been put in the wrong folder). When you install concrete5, you can see there is a packages folder at the root that is empty on first installation. If you want to add a package, you can upload it to this empty packages folder.

Please see the instructions below for installing Salix.

INSTALL SALIX THEME
When concrete5 is installed on your server, download the “Salix” package, unzip and place into the “packages” directory in the root of your concrete5 installation.

Log into your website and go to Dashboard (top right of menu) and choose “Extend Concrete5”. You will see the Salix theme thumbnail on the left. Click “Install”.

You will then be offered a choice to use the Salix sample content or not. You will see “Clear this site?” and under “Swap Site Contents” choose “Yes” if you wish to use Salix sample content (CAUTION: this will erase anything you already have on your site), or “No” if you DO NOT want the Salix sample content. Then click “Install”.

Thanks,

Jennifer

And I should add, check to make sure you have the Salix folder containing the files - it looks like you may have uploaded the files without that...

So it would be your packages folder and a salix folder within that containing all of the package

packages/salix

It's something people often do, so not so stupid. Good luck with your project.
