Hi,
is there a way to change home design?
What I’m looking for:
BANNER (1920 x 800 or 1920 x 400)
TOP CONTENT
MAIN
FOOTER

So basically, according Salix documentation page 9 leaving the following away:

Home Full Width 1
Content 1
Home Full Width 2
Contents 2
Bottom Content

I tried according your description in a previous post how to change a design. Now way to get it done working properly….

In general, it is great to work with.
Thanks in advance for you support.

Hello

You would need to copy home_v1.php, rename it (e.g. home_custom.php) and then alter the HTML/PHP by deleting the sections you do not want. Or you can copy another page template (e.g. full.php), which is more similar to your desired page, and adapt the instructions below.

You will find home_v1.php located in your package folder here:
salix\themes\salix

To delete the sections that you have listed, you would delete from (should be lines 64/65)
<?php
$backgroundFW1Image = $c->getAttribute('salix_home_fw1');

to (should be lines 166/167)
</div>
  <!--/.container-->

just before
</div>
<!--/#salix-main-section-->

You would need to upload this file (e.g. home_custom.php) to your server, and also save it locally in case of it being deleted during a theme update. The file should be saved on your server under packages/salix/themes/salix.

Then log into your concrete5 website, and go to the Dashboard > Pages and themes > select Page Templates next to Salix. If you have uploaded your new page template to the correct place, you will see it listed and a tickbox next to it saying "create page template". Click OK.

Then navigate to your home page. If you have content on the home page in any of the areas that you are not going to have in the new template, I would recommend deleting them first. If you need to save them, you can copy them to clipboard first, and then delete. Then you need to choose your new page template, by clicking on the cog icon (upper left) selecting Design, and under Page template select the new template (e.g. Home custom). Click save changes.

Thanks,

Jennifer
