Hi,

You're welcome to have a refund if you would like, but I don't think that you are adding the banner image correctly by the sound of things.

Please check the documentation here:

http://seren.pilipalawebdesign.com/index.php/documentation...

This is also in your Seren theme folder as a PDF.

Specifically, this section explains how to add a banner image:

http://seren.pilipalawebdesign.com/index.php/documentation#_Toc4159...

You will see it says:

Add Banner Image From a Page

To add a banner image from a page, go to the page and click on the gear icon at the top left of the menu. Click on "Attributes"; choose "Seren Banner Image" on the left. On the right, you will see under "Seren Banner Image" a box that says "Choose New File" click on this and select or upload the image that you wish to use (if you need to upload an image, click on the Upload Files link at the top right). Click "Save Changes". Click on Attributes on the left to exit the menu. Click on the pencil icon at the top left of the menu and select "Publish Changes".

If you are still having problems and would like me to check on your site, please send me your concrete5 dashboard login for the site (user name and password).

If you are still unhappy, please get back to me and let me know if you still want a refund.

Thanks,

Jennifer

Hi Geir,

This must be tricky for you as all of the instructions are in English. I am not sure if your Dashboard is also in another language or in English. I am referring to instruction links on the website, but you also have a PDF in your Seren package folder under documentation which may be easier to read.

1. Search area in top menu

The instructions can be found here:

http://seren.pilipalawebdesign.com/index.php/documentation#_Toc4159...

The instructions are a bit long, because you first need to set up a page to send your search results to. So you add a page called "Search" or whatever. Next step is add the search block to the Search page. Then you add the search block to your home page in the Sitewide Masthead Left Area (or on the right). Then you apply a custom template "Seren Search". But you do need to read the instructions because you have to choose settings for the search blocks.

2.http://falcon-eye.no/quest-pic/quest-nr-1.jpg...... portfolio page list

This will not make sense to you until you add your Portfolio pages.

The instructions for adding a portfolio are here:

http://seren.pilipalawebdesign.com/index.php/documentation#_Toc4159...

To simplify things you need to add your portfolio pages in the sitemap (choose exclude from nav for all of the pages) under a portfolio main page. Then on the portfolio main page you need to add a page list block and use a custom template "Seren Portfolio Two Column", "Seren Portfolio Three Column" or "Seren Portfolio Four Column". But again, you will need to follow the instructions above.

Once you have created a portfolio, you can put that section there on your home page. It is just a page list with a custom template applied see here for instructions:

http://seren.pilipalawebdesign.com/index.php/documentation#_Toc4159...

Then to the Main 2 area, we added a page list block and chose the custom template "Portfolio 4 Column". We chose not to select pagination and only to select 4 pages. More instructions are available under the "Add Portfolio" section, and of course, this won't make sense until you have added your Portfolio so come back to this later!

3. The different size of your banner.

The different size of your banner is because I have content in my banner area pushing it down you see the text "A concrete5 5.7 theme featuring a menu with a scrolling transparency effect. " is pushing it down.

There are a couple of ways you can make your banner image larger -
1. You could add some content like I have in the demo, or
2. You could add a spacer div in the "empty banner content area" by dragging an html block and adding something like this:

<div class="spacer-100"></div>
<div class="spacer-100"></div>
<div class="spacer-100"></div>

or,
3. You could modify the CSS
You can do this by altering these lines

div.ccm-page .seren-jumbotron {
min-height: 200px;
}
@media (min-width:767px) {
div.ccm-page .seren-jumbotron {
min-height: 400px;
}

}

You would just copy these lines and add them to your custom css with whichever height you want. But you may not want to do it this way as it will affect all of your pages. You may only want your home page to be bigger. If this is the case, then you need to target the page you want to have a bigger image. You can check your page id in Firebug or if you right click on the webpage and look at view source. for example, my home page is body id="page1" so i would put in my custom css something like:

#page1 div.ccm-page .seren-jumbotron {
min-height: 400px;
}
@media (min-width:767px) {

#page1 div.ccm-page .seren-jumbotron {
min-height:800px;
}

}

Hope that helps,

Jennifer

Hi Jennifer - first of all: neat theme. I just have one issue (I might seem a bit blind-folded at this stage ;D ) I added a banner image according to your sizing (1920x1400) using the home page-type, but it does not scale down just as deep as your demo-pic does.
What step did I miss?

Kind regards
Bettina

Hi,

I'm not sure by your description of the problem if you mean that your banner image is a different size to the demo? If you see my answer above (#3) you will see there are three ways of making the banner image larger. If this does not answer your question, please send a description of what is different and I will try to answer. You are welcome to pm me with a link to your site if you like.

Thanks,

Jennifer

Hi Jennifer - sorry about the delayed response. That worked just fine. Thank you. One more question: How can I replace the top image with a slider?

Happy greetings, Bettina

Hi Bettina,

It is probably best if you start a new support thread for your queries, but to respond to your question, the theme does not support a slider in that area, only a background image. If you wanted to put a slider there, the theme would require customisation. We offer customisation of themes at a rate of £20 / hour, which is currently US $28.50 / hour. Please send us a pm, or email contact@pilipalawebdesign.com if you would like us to provide this service for you.

Thanks,

Jennifer
