No Mobile Responsive Navigation

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Hi Sebastien,

I've just discovered that there is no mobile phone responsive navigation when the viewed in portrait format (see attached screenshots) - surely this can't be right, because it's only going to result in a lot people clicking off the website before they figure out to turn it on its side?

Website URL:http://devon-lodge-holidays.com/...

Please can you urgently give me a fix for this?

Thanks

David

Hi,

It seems that you have customized some css code ? Is it possible ?

Nothing I'm aware of that would affect the nav and apart from forking the theme, I've only done as following:

Base css:

.header select {
   -webkit-appearance: none;
   padding: 10px;
   outline: none;
   border:none;
   overflow: hidden;
   font: 12px Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
   margin: 0;
   width: 100%;
   max-width: 100%;
   display: block;
   background:#fff url('file:///Macintosh HD/Users/admin/Documents/The Big Ideas Business/Client Work/Devon View Holidays.com/Website/Webfiles/Edited/css/images/navselect.gif') no-repeat right center;

Footer.php:

<div id="copyright">
  <div class="container">
    <div class="eleven columns alpha">
      <p class="copyright">
            <span>© <?php  echo date('Y')?> <a href="<?php  echo DIR_REL?>/"><?php  echo SITE?>.</a></span>
            <span><i class="icon-magic"></i> <?php  echo t('Website Built by ') ?><a href="http://www.getthebigidea.co.uk/" rel="Content Managed Website" title="Content Managed website from The Big Ideas Business">The Big Ideas Business Ltd.</a></span>
            <span class="powered-by"><i class="icon-cogs"></i> <?php  echo t('Powered by ')?> <a href="http://www.getthebigidea.co.uk/features/websites_cms" title="<?php  echo t('The Big Ideas Business content management system for PHP and MySQL')?>"><?php  echo t('BIG CMS')?></a></span>

Not sure how either of those would effect the mobile navigation though.

So if you think something is missing, then what do think it is and how can I fix it please?

Thanks

David

Hi,

If you delete your css code about .header select , you will see that all is working.
You will need to change you custom code.

Sorry, just so I'm clear. Do you mean delete literally ALL THE CODE above in the custom base CSS, ...or just the words ".header select {" from the code above???

Thanks

Hi Sebastien,

I have done what you have suggested to the base.css but it made no difference what-so-ever, so I have put the base CSS back as it was originally now.

Surely it should be the header CSS anyway???? So I have attached the CSS code, just in case.

<?php   defined('C5_EXECUTE') or die(_("Access Denied."))?>
<!DOCTYPE html>
<!--[if lt IE 7 ]><html class="ie ie6" lang="en"> <![endif]-->
<!--[if IE 7 ]><html class="ie ie7" lang="en"> <![endif]-->
<!--[if IE 8 ]><html class="ie ie8" lang="en"> <![endif]-->
<!--[if (gte IE 9)|!(IE)]><!-->
<html lang="en">
<!--<![endif]-->
<head>
<meta charset="utf-8">
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge,chrome=1">
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1, maximum-scale=1, user-scalable=0">
<link href='http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Arvo|PT+Sans' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>
<!--[if lt IE 9]>
    <script src="http://html5shim.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/html5.js"></script>

Do you have another suggestion please?

I would appreciate your help quite urgently now please.

Thank you

David

Seb,

Please, please, please can I have some support?

This is not fair mate, like you have a business to run too and I get that you have other things to do so I don't realistically expect 24/7 support, but this is weeks bud - just to get you to reply.

Please can you help with this issue, because your earlier suggestion didn't work?

Thank you

HI,

It seems to you have customized the screen.css file.
in my version of swosh i have
.mainmenu {
         float: left;
         width: 100%;
         margin-top:-60px;
      }

in your site i see :
.mainmenu {
         float: left;
         width: 100%;
         margin-top:-340px;
      }

"margin-top:-340px;" hide the mobile nav.

I wasn't aware I had changed that, but obviously I did.

Anyway, brilliant, that worked a treat. Thank you for your support buddy.
