need help with tab navigation

hello,
i have been using plain yogurt until i activated venture this evening. i discovered that my old sidebar navigation was not linked. So i deleted it and then added a navigation block to the header (like in the venture demo) but it only adds a vertical list view. how do i change that to the tab navigation style? thanks very much for the help!
