C5 Wont Go To Subpages

Ok, so I am having an issue with a recent c5 install that it will not go to subpages with I click on them via the "front-end" in order to edit. Only when I go to the dashboard and click on the site map am I able to go to the sub page. But when I click on it, it just stays on the homepage.

I do have pretty URL's on.
I just turned it off and I am able to navigate to the pages I want to.
Does this mean that I can't use pretty urls?

It means you need to enable mod_rewrite on Apache (Apache is the name of the most commonly-used server software -- although if you are on Windows it might be different). Try googling for how to do this -- it's different depending on your specific server setup.
you should check whether you have mod_rewrite enabled and whether it is working properly.
(watch the URL in the sitemap, it's not the pretty url, it's the "ugly" one that does not require mod_rewrite being set up. That's the reason why I think that mod_rewrite might be the problem in your case...)
