Login failure and no edit bar in production environment

Permalink 1 user found helpful
I moved the C5 5.4.2.2 site I developed on Mac OS X to a Windows test server. On both machines all worked fine. Then I deployed everything to a Linux production server. One thing I had to do is rename the table names from lower case to upper case and that went fine. I can view the site just fine. But then...

1. Logging in doesn't do anything but redirect me to the homepage without an edit bar
2. I am indeed not logged in, since trying to go to /index.php/dashboard/ redirects me to the login page
3. Someone on this forum suggested to check the "remember me" checkbox when logging in. When I do that, I get redirected to the homepage and this time it leaves space for the edit bar, but the edit bar itself does not appear
4. With the "remember me" trick I can go to /index.php/dashboard/ but whatever I try, I cannot get the edit bar to show up on the pages, so I cannot edit content

There's one odd thing in the "Sitewide Settings": under Connect to Community, I get the error message "Error establishing connection to the concrete5 community. Please check that curl and other required libraries are enabled.".

I even tried upgrading to 5.5.0, but that leads to the same problems.

Help! I'm on a dead end!

I found that it had to do with the Linux hosting environment. Apparently it was an older environment. My provider transferred the site to a newer environment and everything works fine on that. I'm guessing this is probably caused by an older PHP version, but I was not able to verify this.

Any chance that was with Bluehost?

No, sorry, Moran. That was with a European hosting company: combell.com.

Are you having the same issue with Bluehost? I just moved a site from dev(localhost) to production(bluehost) and now cannot get the edit bar.
