Upgrading 3yr old site, now have 5.4.2.2 but will not allow any newer versions

Not sure if a memory / space issue? Just got another message about permissions or directory not existing. Why did allow update to 5.4.2.2 if permissions or directory not there?

Dashboard tells me latest version is 5.5.2.1 but is actually 5.7.1

Only have about 22 pages of products, tempted to just start fresh with new install.

Will Superfish 1.1.4 and eCommerce - 2.0.8 plugins work with new version?

Am wanting a responsive site with shopping cart, blog and SEO friendly...

Thanks for your comments, cheers

The latest version you will be able to update your current site to is 5.6.3.2, as version 5.7 uses a completely different (modern) structure and is for new sites only.

Your dashboard is saying 5.5.2.1 is the latest version, as you need to update to that version before continuing to update further.

If you choose to go down the path of starting new, keep in mind that 5.7 was only recently released in September, so there are very few addons available until developers update them for the new code system.
