How we work the translation process to include into concrete5 release?

Michele and Remo (And maybe Andrew).

This is Katz.

We, Japanese team, are wondering how we will be working together to include the translation package into core.

- When do we know that we can start working on the next version of .po file
- How much time frame we are given to translate in order to be able to be on-time for the release
- How are we communicate between core team and international groups?

Thanks!

Hi Katz

you're talking about 5.7 right?

* I talked to Michele about that and decided not to add 5.7 at the moment. There are quite a few things changing and we wouldn't want translators to waste time with strings that will be removed.
* It's hard for us to figure out the best time for it, that's something which the core team might have to tell us
* The scripts Michele wrote are easy to extend, adding another version/branch isn't much work.

@Andrew: Do you think you'll remove a lot of strings in 5.7 for the final version?

Thanks!

Thanks Remo,

Oh...
I was asking about 5.6.3... if you are even planning to include the lang files even in 5.6.x series.

Language files will be included starting from 5.6.3: seehttp://www.concrete5.org/about/blog/core-releases/concrete5-5.6.3-r...

The core team will release this new version this week: seehttp://www.concrete5.org/developers/pro-accounts/community-leaders-...

I think that you should finish the Japanese translation as soon as possible.
From the status page (http://www.concrete5.org/developers/translate/... ) I can see that you're almost done: just 83 strings are not translated...

Thanks Michele

That's what we thought that we will include the language files in 5.6.3.
We will try to finish it by tonight which is by the morning of 2/20 (Thur) (PST).

Thanks...

Sorry one more question...

What if we couldn't be on-time for the release?

1. Will the lang file still be included in the release?Or the only the 100% version will be included?

2. Even we the process says 100%, sometime you need to revise the strings, who should be inform when we complete the translation?

Thanks.

Opps. Michele... Sorry I didn't read the release note carefully...

I understand that if the strings is completed more than 90%, it will be included into the core release...

Yes, you're right.

Sorry for the late response, but the c5 forum is not notifying me by email even if I'm monitoring this thread...

We've completed our 5.6.3 translation.
Language file is ready to release.

Now only thing, that our package Japanese package is different from main package, are:

- Multilingual URL Support
- Multilingual Welcome Screen (Soon after the installation)
- Multilingual Welcome Back Screen

Thanks.
