Hello.
Is there a way I can make a package with my theme, the blocks there are being used in the theme as well as text content and images?

So it can easily be installed

You can certainly package up a theme and blocks into a package. Many marketplace themes include bundles blocks and even dashboard pages for configuration all in the one addon package.

As for sample content, in theory you can use the sample content generator addon to create an xml file you can then import with the package install. However (could be wrong on this), I am not sure it works with current c5 versions.

For examples, look in the howtos.

There are some starter or boilerplate packages in the marketplace designed to be used as a stating point for new developers.

Also look athttp://www.concrete5.org/developers/open-source/... for starter packages not in the marketplace.

Hi Resonate,

Have you had a chance to read Andrew's How-to about Sample Content & Starting Points? It may be helpful to you if I understand your question correctly.

I can confirm the sample content generator, which is referenced well into Andrews how-to, does NOT work with 5.6.1.2 or 5.6.2.1

I also, would like to know how to do this!!

Viewed the film through and was ready to get started, until I found out Sample Content Generator will not work with version 5.6.2.1.

They write that they have no plans for an update at this time.

Is there some other way it can be done?

I asked on their forum and @mkly responded:

'Hello,
The source if available on github if anyone has a chance to take a look and see if they can get it up and running.

Unfortunately, my experience is not big enough to be able to edit my self. Perhaps there is someone who will take a look at it? :)

I've got the Sample Content Generator installed on 5.6.2.1 and it *seems* to work, in that it produces the XML/CIF output. I haven't taken that output and tried to make a StartingPoint yet so possibly the XML is incomplete or has error but if you're saying you can't install it or it doesn't produce output I'd say it *should* be able to work to that extent.

I'd like to learn more about this, was planning to make a StartingPoint... hopefully the import part works well. I recently used some of it to import Pages, that part works fine.
