Image problems in FIle Manager

Permalink 1 user found helpful
I am creating a site in 8.5.4 and suddenly I am experiencing problems with image files (jpg, jpeg, gif, etc.). I can upload the files (via 'incoming' or individually), but in File Manager they are just broken file icons. Trying to edit them gets a blank window. However, downloading the image file gets a perfect copy.

It may be more than images as I tried a PDF with the same result.

I was doing the same thing a couple of months ago with a very similar C5 site and I had no problems at all. I'm completely at a loss here.

Okay, got it fixed. For organization reasons I had specified another directory for ftp-uploaded files and set that as the default for the "upload" directory in File Manager. That worked fine as far as getting the files into File Manager, except that they were broken and non-functional as described above. Even when I added files individually through the drag and drop window they were broken.

So I went back and set the default back to the normal "incoming" directory and, bingo, files added through that directory were fine, as were drag and drop additions. It would seem that simply changing the default directory from the standard one broke something. Bug, perhaps or some arcane permissions issue?

You can select All Folders if you want to see all the images. Select Root Folder if you want to view the images in their default folder. Search for file based on image file name;http://www.talktowendys.us/ Use the Sort By and Thumbnail Size on the right to narrow down your search. 3. Image URL. Select the image and click the Copy URL button to get the URL
