Active page highlight - do not highlight the daughter pages

Nice add-on thanks. I have a little problem with how the sub-menus are highlighted.
Details are as follows:
- when the parent menu item is selected, the parent menu item is highlighted, unfortunately the daughter menu items are also (attached image "Menu 1.png"
- when the daughter menu item is selected, the correct menu item is highlighted, but not the daughter menu. Menu 2.png
- if I modify CSS code within to included nav-path-selected, whole menu reverts back to "Menu 1.png"
CSS Code is as follows in my template:
It appears that all li items are being painted by the same brush. Any thoughts?
