Menu starts on second level

Hi - I am wanting to use this as a secondary menu element. The items from the first level will be along a horizontal nav at the top of the page. This would be used for a vertical nav for secondary/third level items. I want to keep the top horizontal nav highlighted when its doing this if possible. Will this work please let me know and I will buy....

If I'm honest this may take a bit of your custom coding to get this functionality working properly.
I can't see this happening as its not the main purpose of this menu.
