swf files and click-thru tracking

Permalink Browser Info Environment
2 related questions for you:

1) swf movie files are not displaying (movie or image files) using the 'Choose image' function

swf files do display using <object> and <embed> code in the script box, but...

2) Click-thrus are not being tracked when the html script option is used to embed local files (this is the case for flat images using <a> tags or swfs using a clicktag variable)

Please can you advise. Cheers.

Example embed code:

<object width="300" height="250">
<param name="movie" value="/files/1612/9494/0648/test-mpu.swf?clickTAG=http://www.domain.com">
<embed src="/files/1612/9494/0648/test-mpu.swf?clickTAG=http://www.domain.com" width="300" height="250">
</embed>
</object>

<a href="http://www.domain.com"><img src="/files/9912/9404/2613/test-mpu.png"><a>

From what I've gathered, clickthroughs are tracked only via the simple image / link style of ads.

The "Ad HTML / Javascript" field (where you're embedding your swf) was designed with the assumption that you'd be inserting an ad from a third-party network (like AdSense etc) that includes its own tracking code that records clickthrough stats elsewhere.
