How to create side-by-side or narrow blocks?

Permalink Browser Info Environment
I'm new to designer blocks and created one but can't see how to limit the width so I can put another one next to it. I saw this in the screenshots but am having trouble figuring that out. Anyone out there who can shed light on this?

The purpose of Designer Content is to create the edit interface for blocks, but the actual design of how that content is displayed on your site is up to the HTML and CSS in your theme and/or that you provide when creating the custom block. (It is meant to be a tool for web designers and developers who are familiar with HTML/CSS)

However, if you already have the block made and it works okay but you just need to have two next to each other on the page, you might try using "Area Layouts" to achieve this -- seehttp://www.concrete5.org/documentation/editors-guide/in-page-editin...
