More on lightbox-style popups

I read the post below from July about lightbox-style popups, but didn't really understand it. I used the code suggested and altered the controller and view files, and it worked perfectly to give me a larger image...but it simply displays the image in a new screen, not in lightbox style (which, to be fair, was all I expected it would do).
I also installed Zoom Image Dual and it works fine...but how do I make the thumbnail in my block display as in Zoom Image Dual?

I haven't explained myself well enough. I haven't tried to add Fancybox to the page yet, so there are no javascript errors. The problem isn't that I'm getting errors--the problem is that I simply have no idea how to proceed. I know there must be some way to "hook together" the images embedded by Designer Content and Fancybox...but I don't know what it is. I just wondered if anyone had already figured this out.
You'll want to learn how the jquery lightboxes work first. Go tohttp://fancybox.net and check out the docs. Build a "static" image gallery that's just HTML and CSS and Javascript/Jquery (outside of C5). Once you understand how they work, then try to get it integrated into C5. It will be much easier this way than trying to learn 2 new things at once.
Good luck!

Make sure you're not including jquery in your theme head (c5 already includes this on every page). Also, if you have another block on your page that uses the fancybox lightbox and you also use it on this block, it will get loaded twice and conflict with each other and not work -- best solution here is to put the fancybox include in your theme head, and remove it from ALL addons that use it.
