Move blocks to live site?

I made a bunch of Designer Content blocks on a local machine and now I'm putting the site up on a server.
I put all the Designer Content blocks in the blocks folder, but they don't show up in the Add Block list when I'm editing the page.
What am I doing wrong?

(Note that this is a different dashboard page than the one you install addons and packages from.)
The Designer Content addon automatically installs the block types for you when you first create them, but since you are moving them to a new site now, you need to install them yourself.
