Hi Torsten,
As per point #2 in the documentation: if the blocks were created with Designer Content version 3.1 or higher, and your site is running Concrete5.5.2 or higher, then yes you can use the blocks on their own without having the Designer Content package installed.

But if the blocks were created with a version of Designer Content that is older than 3.1, or the site is running a version of Concrete5 older than 5.5.2, then no you cannot just copy the blocks without also installing Designer Content on the other site.

OK - there is a documentation...

thanks for the info - I just want to make sure that there is no hassle using blocks without designer content.
Thank you
Best regards

Hi Jordan, (I love Designer content by the way)

I'm having problems moving blocks created in 3.1 to another site.

I've installed designer content in the new site, I move the created blocks to the root/blocks folder in the new site, but I get an error when I try and install them through the dashboard. (see below)

It looks like C5 is looking for the files in the root/concrete/blocks folder and gets an error because they're not there - they're in the root/blocks folder

The old site is made with a slighty older version of C5 than the new site

Any ideas?

This looks like an issue with the new "overrides cache" in 5.6. Try clearing the cache, or disabling that overrides cache via the Dashboard and see if that helps.
