What would you recommend as a flow for selling digital downloads with this?

Cheers

Hi Chris,
This ecommerce system isn't as sophisticated as the core team's one. Its really designed for when you need a simple system for a simple solution. If probably put digital products into the "sophisticated" category.

It would be possible to do if you have just 1 (or a couple products) which would be downloaded from the "thank you" page. But not quite as bulletproof as the digital download addon by the core team. It also possible to create your own custom gateway which would be the better solution but at this stage requires a bit of js/php programming know how.

Hope this helps.

Yes, I was thinking in terms of a gateway at the end, and I like the simple approach you're using here.

So if I understand it, your advice is:

Shopping Cart --> Paypal --> Success Page --> Gateway --> File

Is that right?

I've found this potential solution:

http://www.vibralogix.com/linklokipn/...

Do you think this will work with your shopping cart?

Yeah I think that will work.

Hurray it works!! I have a shop!

Note for whoever tries this after me: leave the success and cancel pages blank in Ecommerce Express and allow the linklokipn scripts to do it instead. That lesson cost me 58 cents.

Great news! Well done.

If you don't mind I will add a link that website from my site in case other folk want to do the same thing.

If you're happy with the support provided, I'd greatly appreciate a positive review in the c5 marketplace.

I have one question about using this ecommerce express with linklok. Is it supporting multiple files easily? I am pretty excited about using this combo!

Thanks!

Hi, I haven't personally used Linklok, but it's description says it supports multiple products and multiple files (http://www.vibralogix.com/linklokipn/). Naturally, the eCommerce Express add-on supports multiple files. So I don't see why not.

Hope this helps.

Hi cpendlebury, jb1

I cannot seem to get paypal to re-direct to the linklokipn. It keeps going to my domain "yourdomain.com" rather than "yourdomain.com/linklokipn.php"

Did you have this issue... It's not a difficult concept, but I cannot seem to get this working.

I have set-up details in linklokipn.php excluding the optional templates.
- In the products I have named them to my knowledge correctly. This extension names them as "item-1" rather than id1 or something.

I have setup paypals IPN and PDT to point to the correct location and ofcourse, installed the tokenID.

The return URL in ecommerce express are blank as mentioned.

Am I missing anything here?

Thanks,
Josh.

Hi Josh, I'm not sure I can answer that as I haven't used Linklok personally, I've only had customers who mentioned to me that they used it with eCommerce Express successfully. Perhaps it's best to send a PM to Chris.

Best of luck :-)

Hi Josh,

The correct paypal link is to yourdomain.com/linklokipnret.php, not yourdomain.com/linklokipn.php. Try that?

Cheers,
Chris

Thanks for the quick replies.

Sorry Chris, the url was actually correct in paypal (though my post stated otherwise -- late night). However I was not even receiving any emails, it seemed like the IPN script was not being called at all.

After looking through paypal's IPN log's I discovered something. My Client has two email address's for paypal. DOH! The one he gave me to log in and set up his account was not the primary one, so it was a security issue with linklok as the paypal email address was incorrect.

Though the IPN is now working, the return is still not going to the download page. This is not a big deal as long as the customers email is correct. However I will post back if I figure out what is going on here.

Thanks again guys.

Josh.
