How to set Dependency on an Integer Field
Permalink Browser Info Environment
Hello again,
Hopefully this is an easy answer.
So I've got an Integer Field, followed by a Text Area.
However, I want the Text Area dependent upon the Integer Field.
Basically, I want the Text Area to show if the Integer Field isn't blank.
I've tried several ways and none seem to work:
Show—>if Integer Field—>not equal to: null
Intuitively, I'd think it should work if "not equal to: (blank)" with nothing there, as in, don't show it if they don't fill out the Integer Field.
However, Dependency Validation prevents this and says you have to enter something. I tried space and it accepts it, but doesn't work.
So what value should be used in these situations?
Thanks in advance!

Cool, I'll take that as a big compliment coming from you.
The reason it's big? I've used ALOT of c5 add-ons, and can say w/o a doubt that yours are the best designed and thoughtful. So the fact I found something you hadn't already thought of makes me proud, b/c you've thought of alot.
FYI. I gave you props the other day on LinkedIn. Someone posted on the c5 forum about SMTP setup issues. I used to have to deal with Google's SMTP, the worst, but thankfully I'm on a new server and can use PHPmail() now. I pointed out from my experience SMTP sucks b/c add-on developers don't always give the "Reply To" option, which makes Forms Auto-Email replys a big pain b/c you have to monitor the SMTP acct for responses b/c most add-ons default to the "From" field for "Reply-To". But not you, and I recommended Formidable there for ya.
Hope it helps the biz!
Cheers!

Hi!
Just uploaded a fix for the "empty" or "not empty" value of a field.
Let me no if it works for you!
Best,
Corretje
PS: If could be that you need to clear the cache of C5 and/or your browser because of a change in javascript.

By the way, thanks for supporting my addons on LinkedIn. Creating good working and thoughtful addons and themes is what drives me :)
There is no option like "empty" or "not empty"......
Let me see if I can find a nice solution...
I'll get back to you...
