Form not showing results - what happened and why - our fix and experience.

I thought I would share the lessons we learned from troubleshooting this plugin as I've seen many people in the support section have problems with getting submissions to appear in the dashboard results and also that there was no emails being sent out.

To start, testing in the sandbox:

To test your form in sandbox mode, make sure you have a sandbox account with Paypal, otherwise it will not log you in to complete the fake purchase. You can set this up here:http://developer.paypal.com/

PayPal Account Setup:

You need to make sure that you or your client's Paypal account is setup with email and bank account verified. If you don't, payments won't go through and since this plugin is programmed to only show records where payments are successful, you will not see the record show up. Records of transactions that have failed or where Paypal communication back to the server has failed is still stored in the database if you need to retrieve it, but there is code in this plugin that prevents these records from displaying. You will need to dig in to the files to comment that code out if you need these.

Server Configuration if on Windows:

We launched this site on a Windows server, since there is Curl programming to communicate with Paypal, you will need to have Curl configured to use authority certificate. In the packages/form_with_paypal_payment/blocks/form_with_paypal_payment/tools/ipn_listender.php file on line 43 you will see the comment in the code that explains this and where to get a cert.pem file to make this work.

After all of this we have gotten the plugin to work fine. Good luck out there!

Thanks for your post! If anyone has further problems with the "Forms with PayPal Payment", please don't hesitate to send in a support request.

Also, there are currently 19 copies left of a special offer for the add-on at $49 (instead of $65). Link to special offer:

We are having problems that may be related - not sure. When our customers fill in the form and then press the submit to take them to PayPal to actually pay it is getting stuck on Please Wait and not loading PayPal. We thought it was isolated to Internet Explorer but have just had a customer contact who is using Chrome.
Any ideas what is wrong and how to fix it????

I had posted something similar earlier, but maybe i'll find some answers here...i hope. I had the add on new last year working fine. (i only use it once a year). this year it has been a real mess....but have no other options.... so working extra hard to keep things flowing with payments - "for what and when". Here's my issue:
1) customer linking to paypal from the form seems to be fine. we have orders which i get a receipt from PayPal so i know from "who" and "how much" only, so each person has had to have email contact to ask what they purchased and when they want delivery.

2) problem is this, The add on is not keeping track of the submissions and also, it is not sending email notifications about the purchases, nor is it sending the other form data in a notification email...

I'm not really sure if this is the same "fix" you are talking about here is the same issue?
As Admin, i'm using firefox on a Mac (if that makes any difference).
Thanks for any insight. I only have 3 avail-abilities left for this year so not pressed for urgency at this point, but i'd really like to get it resolved... feel we paid a lot for this app last year (full price) and was happy with it then. won't be able to use it in the future if I can't solve this issue somewhat easily...i'm not very comfortable changing codes.
Thanks very much...
