Membership Discounts

Is it possible to create a discount code for memberships?

Some of the website users are given a discount on their membership if they do some volunteer work for the organisation as well and they also get access to other areas of the site based on their group membership.

I could create two different membership products but the problem is that someone would need to authorise that they were actually in that group, rather than the add-on automatically allowing them the permission.

Hi. No, this is not easily possible out of the box.

As you imply, the way to do it would be to create two different products. Since the products are normal c5 pages, you could apply permissions to them, and have a discount group (using authorize.net, there'd be a way for them to manually change the URL after the redirect).

I don't see this being added anytime soon (recurring payments has more demand, so that'll be the next big thing). But, for future reference, what's the requirement? Do you want to produce a simple "coupon code" that takes off an amount / a percentage? Limits on using it (once per code, expiry date, etc)? How would it affect the recurring payments? Or, a future payment, for example? I assume your membership will be yearly. Say someone signs up today after volunteering and gets a lower price. What happens when they have to renew next year? Do they get the same discount? Or do they need a new coupon code?
