Compatible with 8.5.2
Permalink Browser Info Environment
I purchased this addon because it said it was compatible with 8.5.12. I'm running 8.5.2 and when i try to install it it says it's not compatible. Your documentation says it is compatbile which is the only reason I purchased it. See attached screen shot where it says compatible with 8.5.12+

I sent a screen shot where it shows compatible with 8.5.12, so I'm confused why you're asking for documentation that erroneously says 8.5.2. If it works for 58.5.12, then the assumption is it would work on 8.5.2, correct?
Next, please tell me how to do a manual install and where it goes. I don't even have an option to download the addon, so I'm a bit confused.
Thanks

Maybe you are misinterpreting the numbering system. The sequence is
8.5.0, 8.5.1, 8.5.2, 8.5.3 ..... 8.5.9, 8.5.10, 8.5.11, 8.5.12, 8.5.13, 8.5.14 ...
So Concrete v8.5.12 is 10 point versions beyond 8.5.2 and 8.5.2 is several years out of date for functional and security fixes.
The latest Concrete v8 core is currently 8.5.16. If you wanted to update your site core version, you could update directly from 8.5.2 to 8.5.16. If you choose to do that, take a backup first and I recommend the manual update process.https://documentation.concretecms.org/developers/introduction/instal...
I will add another post soon about manually installing MT.

To manually install:
In your concrete marketplace account, go to your projects page and release MT from the project.
The free license for MT will now show as downloadable in your marketplace licenses page. Find Magic Tabs in your Purchase History > Licenses and download. Make sure to scroll down to the most recent version before downloading the lastest version zip. Currently MT v9.0.8..
Copy the zip to your site /packages/ directory and unzip (not /concrete/packages !!!). This is usually easiest using your host cPanel file manager.
Still in cPanel, edit the file /packages/jl_magic_tabs/controller.php, change as described above and save.
In your site, visit the Dashboard > Extend page and MT will be ready to install.
Once MT is installed, the theme grid (Global Settings tab of the block edit) may be defaulted to settings configured for Atomik and Bootsrap5. You will need to change these settings for Elemental and Bootstrap3. For Elemental you will need to set "Preserve grid wrapper", "container" and "Do not wrap in theme grid".

Thank you. I will mark this as resolved. If you require further assistance please open a new support thread.
In practice, the only reason I limit back compatibility to 8.5 12 is that is what I test back to. As long as you have php7.3+ and are on an 8.5.x core, I would expect MT to work.
To enable this, you will need to do a manual install of MT and edit the appVersionRequired in the package controller
