Captcha Default to Off

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Hello,

I need the captcha in problog to default to "off" instead of on. I don't see this in the global settings anywhere, or in the settings while creating a post.

I know I can select this if I go in to an individual post, and edit the guestbook block but I obviously don't want to have to do this for every post.

I feel like there's a simple solution to this that I'm missing ... any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,

-Chris

In addition - where do I set the email address for the comment admin/moderator? There must be a better way then editing the guestbook block for each individual post.

Thanks!

you can set all of these by simply editing your page type defaults in your dashboard. go do pages and themes -> page types -> pb_post page type defaults.

then edit that page, and change the settings for the comments block.

this will only apply for new messages. you will need to to manually change any existing posts by simply editing that page and changing the guestbook settings in the same way.

Thanks for the quick reply Chad,

I checked my page defaults for pb_post and there is nothing there except for an empty "main" block", so I can't edit anything :(

Not sure where the post/guestbook blocks are getting pulled from.

sorry. I was thinking of a different package. lol my bad!

I would reconsider turning that off: but in any event, you want to change line 200 of controller.php in the problog->controllers->dashboard->problog->add_blog

Thanks Chad! Never would have found that ... worked great.

However, I'm still unsure of how to specify a default email address to alert when a comment has been posted. This is required as the client will be running the site on his own and will need to be alerted when people are commenting on his blog.

Thanks,

I believe in that same line of code you simply add:

$guestbookArray['notifyEmail'] = 'youremail@email.com';

I am looking into adding this as a setting in the app.

never mind

I added the email notify to the latest release. I liked your idea and it was easy to implement.

the captcha I will be leaving out as without it, spam is inevitable.
