Categories on index page

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Is there a way to display the list of categories on the page you assign to block?

I would like to display the category on the right side menu:http://www.northberwickdentalcentre.co.uk/blog/...

I know it is displays on the inner pages but my client has asked it be displayed on this page too so they can jump categories straight from this page.

Any tips would be great, thanks.

if you use the pb_post (ProBlog Post) page type, it should have that automatically. but you would want to do that with page type defaults. so, yes. this can be done easily.

Hi Chad,

I tried setting the page type to what you suggested but the page doesn't change. I reread the docs and can't see what I'm missing.

Should I maybe try adding the page from scratch?

previously added pages wouldn't update. you would need to re-add. any newly added pages should adhere to page_type changes though.

Sorry chad I have been looking into this all night and I just can't get it to work. I've watched your videos loads of times and tried everything.

I am using the latest version of problog and C5.

Basically I want the Blog index page, first screengrab, to have a list of the latest articles in the main area and the sidebar to display categories, and archive from picture 2. At the moment all that happens is I get the page list in the main section and nothing. Now I have this page type set to right sidebar.

I tried your suggestion of setting it to page type pb_post but then nothing displays on my blog index page except for a blank comment form.

If you can help that would be great and willing to give you access to the site and if you have time some beer money if you can fix it as it is the last thing I need to do to complete the site.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks Chad,

Layout wise if it perfect however I noticed an issue that when I click on the category "advice" I get taken to the homepage for some reason?

Please could you tell me where I went wrong. I have another couple of sites to build with a blog and I would like to use this one once I get a hang off it.

Last question, is there a way to allow comments without being logged in, couldn't see that in the docs or support forum?
