Default page for blog posts

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Whenever I start a new blog post, the default page type is Full Page. How can I make it default to ProBlog Post instead?

the ability to preset a default page_type is coming in version 5.

expect to see that in the next week or so.

Actually, it would be even better for the "ProBlog List" block to use a page attribute, rather than the page type, to determine what to display. That attribute could be enabled for anything created with the "new blog" button, regardless of page type.

This change would increase the modularity of the code, and it would have the side benefit of allowing different page types for blog posts if desired.

According to Roadmap, Pro Blog will get pingback support. :-)

Is the version 5 still possible this week?
