Why is this all that obscure???

I am building simple multiblog. I just need to be able to organize the website in the following manner:

MAIN MENU:

Home | News | Apply for your space | Our blogs | About us

Then:

- Under "Home" I need to have just a list of e.g. six most recent entries from individual blogs.

- Under "Our blogs" I need to have list of individual blogs with short descriptions like:

1) John's space
(this is blog about potatos)

2) Mary's space
(this is blog about tomatoes)

3) Henry's space
(this is blog about dogs)

Then, while going into each individual section I need a list of posts within given blog:

John's space
(this is blog about potatos)
I love potatoes very much and I hope you like them too...

-- John's blog entry no 1
-- John's blog entry no 2
-- John's blog entry no 2
-- John's blog entry no 4

The problem is, that section pages I created for the time being show neither section title nor description - there is list of posts under given section only and nothing elese - why so ???

I really need to have a photo of the author, blog (not entry) title and some custom description enabled on each section page!
