proBlog and multilingual site

Hi Chad,
I am testing proBlog against the multilingual and language manager package. Translation works perfectly (already have .po for Danish and almost finished with Russian and Bulgarian) - so that is not the issue.
I have some small issues.
When adding a blog you have to remember to tick the "Exclude From Nav". Is there any way to have that by default?
Have you any idea how to point the search page to multiply pages (one for each language). I thought about using some thing like this:

I would like to help you, but currently it is only our custom version that is fully able to do this. But that is not proBlog or chadstrad's fault. The whole issue about translation of both blocks and packages is a little fuzzy when we talk about guidelines and documentation. And it is the problem with a lot of add-ons. We have supplied translations and code changes to a lot of add-ons now, and it is beginning to sink in to the heads of the majority of developers that translation is a must... I have a few Concrete5 customers here in Denmark that, after buying an add-on here on the marketplace, contact us and complain about the fact that they bought an add-on that in there opinion is fare form finished. Then we normally use a few hours translating code and supply PO/MO files. And then we normally try to convince the add-on developer that the things that we have done to his/hers add-on to work internationally should be merged in to there add-on codes. But that is not always easy to convince the developer that this is necessary to do.
As chadstrad mentioned in an other post that he had never done any multilingual development before, he too probably need some doc and guidelines from Concrete5 core team to provide a solid solution.
So if you can convince chadstrad to do the changes for it to work or you can convince him to make a special version or convince him to allow us to supply you with a version that works for you. Then we can help you. But until that happens we can not give a copy of the add-on.

Would including the .po files in the package distribution be helpful? Can you even do .po's on a per-package basis? I thought they were site wide? no?

PO/MO files is per-package. What I will do is prepare my proBlog version to you with all changes and a general PO file + the Danish translation PO/MO files. I will also provide you with guidelines about how to handle this in the future and in the same way offer you our corporation in translating your packages to Danish. The only thing you will have to do is to contact me every time you have a new version and we will run the translation for your package.
I will suggest you to make equal arrangement with other major translation groups in every country.
You will see that Tony also has made an effort in contacting translating groups all over the world. look this thread:http://www.concrete5.org/community/forums/internationalization/help...
I will come back to you when I am ready to supply you with the changes.

I have also tried to translate Pro Blog from English to Finnish.
I used poEdit to go through the source and translate all the necessary strings.
FOr some reason after using the translation, for example the blog list is empty.
Have you encountered similar problems?

Funny that you should ask now. I am just ready with the danish translation for version 6.6.1.
About the problems that you encounter - No I have not seen this. I would check if you have set the filters correctly in your block!
Just to mention - All the different list templates that ChadStrad has provided is for examples only. For example if you would like to have your dates show up correctly for your country. I will suggest you to make your own custom template where you change such things accordantly.
In the last few months ChadStrat has changed a lot of things for the package to be able to translate correctly. And it seems to work OK now.
And for you Chad, I would look in to C5 v5.6 about the new effort to use "Zend Date" to internationalize the whole Concrete5 date and time system. That looks promising.

I'm considering options for the blog side of an international Concrete 5 site and would dearly love not having to install Wordpress concurrently with Concrete 5.
Any news of internationalization and ProBlog working successfully together?
