REmove category tag from posts

Does anyone know how to remove the category tage from posts? It remains even though no catery is set up or specified. Im sure this is a case of deleting the php echo from a php file, just not sure which one.

You can set it in you css, just make the div style display: none;

How do you do that if the div that surrounds it doesn't have an ID or a class?
