update - option to omit from nav?

just noticed that there is no checkbox anymore so that the blog is not added to nav. perhaps it has been hidden somewhere else?
i noticed because i had a problem with my sitemap showing blogs since the update.

how will that method affect seo for all the pages that are currently published? i have over a hundred blog entries so far.

the other fix i did was just go the that blogs page properties and clicked on the exclude from nav box, but this obviously has to be done each time a new one is published.
why was that check box omitted from the addblog page?
