Using custom templates

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Hi Chad,

I have created my own custom templates for many of the elements, mostly so I can rearrange a few bits and add some wrapping classes to target in my styling.

All ok apart from for the single page ones such as the Blog Search page. When I put the page in edit mode you just see the empty 'Main' area so I can't apply my custom template. This also applies to blog posts pages, even after editing the Page Type it reverts back (becomes detected) from it when the post is edited. I can manually set this each time, not ideal but there is a work around. Maybe I can hardcode it to use the template somewhere?

Am I missing something obvious?

Thank you.

Couple things to note on this:

1- correct, the application will simply rewrite the view. The best thing to do is instead of using your own custom view name, make your view name "blog_post", witch is the same name used by default.

2- the blog search page actually uses the search block. Again, make the view name override the same as the default - "blog_search"

That should be all you need to do. Just rename your views correctly. Be sure to take a look at the search view provided as well. the loop code is different for the search block than it is for the problog_list block.
