Unable to remove video block from home page
Permalink Browser Info Environment
Pasted code from streamingvideoprovider.com into HTML block in video section of home page. Video works, so pasted same code into block on new page, BUT unable to delete the original block! Left click simply plays the video. Right click brings up browser context menu. Reverted version to previous (Aug 2015) and approved the version BUT video block is still there.

Hi,
That sounds quite unusual. If you reverted to a previous version AND deleted the newest version (with the problematic video), it should remove it altogether. The only way it wouldn't is if the page didn't save due to a Javascript error. That sound like the most likely cause - a JS clash between streamingvideoprovider.com and the theme (or perhaps another block on the page). If you're able to send me a URL to look at I can review the Javascript error and confirm the cause.
Hope this helps.

Your quick reply is appreciated! When I approved the previous version of the home page, and then deleted the most recent, the video DID go away.
The new page that I created for pay-per-view videos is
http://woodguy.com/cms/index.php?cID=154...
and I have the same problem there. When in edit mode, a left click on the block simply plays the video, so I don't know how to remove or modify it.

Thanks for the link. Since that player uses Flash it will interfere with the Concrete5 interface (it's a bit complicated to explain but web browsers embed Flash on a separate "layer" to the rest of the web page). This means layering HTML elements above or below Flash can be fiddly. This applies to any theme with C5, not just mine. You should find a very small padding around the video (inside the dotted border which shows that the element is editable) and that can be clickable to show the C5 menu. It's fiddly, but a workaround. Otherwise the only other solution is custom coding a version of the HTML block with a checkbox to turn off output while you're in edit mode.
Hope this helps.

Sorry for my delayed response to your very timely responses (thank you!), but you are correct. It is possible to find area on the border of the video where a left click brings up the desired menu. From there, I can delete or move the block as desired.
Glad to hear that. Good luck with your site :-)
