Dealing with large menus
Permalink Browser Info Environment
Hi good people.
I am looking to see if Fundamental can be successfully used on a site for an organisation that has a lot of options on it's top level menu.
For instance:
ABOUT US
FIND A THERAPIST
COURSES & TRAINING
MEMBERSHIP
PRESS & MEDIA
TRAINING PROVIDER ACCREDITATION
CORPORATE
CHARITY PROJECTS
SHOP
I really like the way that Fundamental deals with multilayered drop downs but the problem I have is that with so many options, it stacks the menu as the resolution decreases until it reaches mobile size, when it changes to a select icon.
I know others have asked this question about changing the mobile breakpoint resolution and that would be ideal, but I am wondering if anyone else would have a suggestion about the best way to deal with so many options apart from making the menu Vertical. They want it horizontal!
Is there a way to word wrap the options? Make each option have a maximum and minimum width? Or maybe shrink the font as the resolution decreases?
Or the obvious solution - only use the mobile menu. But how in Foundation 5.5.2?
Here's hoping.

Oh dear, such a pity. I was very hopeful about using this theme for a particular site.
Looking around I see that it isn't straightforward to change the mobile breakpoint. I tried a number of suggestions from the Foundation forums but nothing seemed to work.
It seems that Foundation 6 makes it somewhat easier. Is Fundamental planned to integrate 6 at any time?
Thanks for a great theme. I have a couple of sites that I am currently developing with it and will link them once they are accepted by the clients.

There are no direct plans to rebuild using Foundation 6 as it wold be almost a complete rebuild.

As good and as popular that horizontal navigations are, there is always a limit to how many links they can hold at the top level.
