Some of the blocks you have, have updated from the versions you had installed before you upgraded to 5.6 and some are not 5.6 ready.

Page ear is not 5.6 ready and should probably be removed until it is.

Image banner is 5.6 ready and to get it functioning again you will want to try to update the add-on version. If that doesn't work you may have to reinstall it completely. Remember to remove it from your pages first and than re-add after you have the new one.

Easy News doesn't seem to be creating a dashboard item to enter news articles the way it did in 5.4 but still has the easy news page list block which has options to display by publication date so you could still make news articles by making pages the old fashioned way and than use the easy news list to dispay them.

Just like all software a new version usually means add-on updates and having the latest versions of your add-ons before going into an update should be considered.

What were the last few things you did before those blocks stopped working, and is there any chance that your update folder or folders within had changes made to its permissions, read write execute ?

One more thing

I can add news with easy news block from my computer at home, but only from this computer, and from Firefox browser on this computer, from any other place I can't add news. In dashboard menu it doesn't exist, from dashboard button is dead. I can't click on it.

This ended up being caused by a site failure and restore that placed the packages dashboard items there without the package files actually being there. When it went through the update it lead to the issue of not being able to add or delete a block until it had a succesful check and that the package info was there to match what was present in the dashboard.

Manually uploading these files to packages and refreshing the cache cleared this up and adding blocks works fine once again.

I've got almost the exact same problem, but is related to another add-on that I cannot seem to locate called "color_box" - I've looked through the add-ons and can't find it so I can re-download it to fix this issue. Anyone know which add-on installs under the directory name "color_box"? The path would look like "/packages/color_box/blocks/color_box_image/controller.php"

Thanks in advance.

Actually, I found it! No wonder I couldn't find it before - it wasn't an "official" addon, but one that is hosted through github:
https://github.com/X4/colorbox_package...

For the record folks, this thing hasn't been updated in like 2 years, and is definitely not 5.6 ready.

I have just installed latest C5 5.6.0.2 and any of the blocks that work before are now getting this require once error in this new version. All of them!!!!!

I love C5 and use it on my site and my clients but it is really unreliable. This is ridiculous.

Am I the only who thinks the awesome C5 team are way too focused on making cool and constant 'hip' changes to the framework rather than spending that time on nailing down a reliable and trusty framework?

Thank God I got away from using WP as a CMS (because it's not a CMS) and am now wondering with this lack of reliability of C5 if I need to move on again.

Rather than waste my time figuring this out ... I now have to delete all of this install and go back a few versions so I can spend my time on site features and not CMS framework troubleshooting.

You could have opened a thread detailing what you did to lead up to this error and received all sorts of help from very competent people. Instead you have decided to do things the hard way which is unfortunate as this particular problem with the require once is usually solved by simply clearing the cache and is often the result of upgrading improperly.
