Feature Request - Image resize on Upload

I stumbled across this

Basically it resizes an image using html canvas element and javascript to resize an image to a certain dimension before upload.
Think this would be great for some mobile applications as it would reduce the size of the uploads considerably in certain instances.
the demo page above has a good example which is configurable.
Would be great to see it
