Required Field

Permalink Browser Info Environment
I just created a new form with Advanced forms and none of the required fields are displaying the asterick to indicate they are required.

I know they are set as such because I confirmed and also if I just hit the submit button, they are highlighted to indicate they are required, but no indicator next to field names.

This is confusing to me because I have just had to move my site from one domain to another (domain.com to domain.net) and had simply installed a new C5 on the new domain and added the advanced forms/data display, (and changed the add-on association in the project page so I could get the updates to the new domain for Data Display). I have the same versions of adv forms and data display on the two domains and added a required field to the old site and it added the asterick (in the code with a span.sem-required-indicator), but on the new domain it does not display and does not have that span in there).

I will send you in internal email with login to the site so you can check it out. Got me but it doesn't work.

And in addition to the above, on my original install, although there is an asterick on all of the other fields that are required, for some reason the one radio button I have on the form that is required does not have its asterick, (which makes it doubly troublesome because it does not highlight after submission with it to indicate it is required.)

Thanks,

This problem was resolved. It was due to no symbol being specified for "required field indicator" in the forms settings.

cool. I thought I had gone through all of those settings. Must have missed that one. Sounds like you plan to make it a star by default for future. Thanks.

Hi Justin,

I am still not seeing the required asterick on the radio buttons that I include on my forms. On the Job Request Form on my CSIK9.net site, for example, the "Job Type" field is required, but it does not show up as such.

Thanks,

Ah...there was a problem with showing the required indicator on radio button and checkbox fields, but it's fixed in the newest version, which I will post today.
