SSL Error

Permalink Browser Info Environment
I have just purchased Advanced Forms and I am setting up my first one. I have the block set to no SSL but when i try to go to the page as a guest user i get the following error. I have tried manually changing the link in the browser to http:// instead of https:// but i still receive the same error. It does however work when I am logged in as admin and it never tried to go to https://. Any ideas?

Secure Connection Failed

Are you sure it's set to no SSL? If so, can you PM me an admin login for you site so I can take a look?

You shouldn't be receiving this error unless you have Require SSL set. When you're logged in as admin Require SSL is always disabled in the instance that you get an error like this so that you can still get to the page and change the setting back if necessary. But if you don't have it enabled, you shouldn't be getting this error...

Hi guys,

I'm having this same problem. SSL is not enabled on our server, and I have the option to use SSL for the form turned off. Nevertheless, the URL gets redirected from http to https.

As a temporary work around I commented out the following in /sixeightforms/blocks/sixeightforms/controller.php

$redirect= "https://".$_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'].$_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'];

Can you PM me login info for your site? This bug was fixed in 1.3.1.3 (posted Feb 28) and I have confirmed that it is not forcing redirect unless specified to do so, so I'm not sure what's going on with your site.

I have not had the problem again; However, I notice, this might be dumb, That if you just save the block with the default settings it creates the problem, but if you actually hit the options and select NO on the SSL selection it works fine..... this is just an assumption, but I find my self doing it just in case!

It should select "No" by default...I just tested it and it did so for me. If anyone else has problems with this let me know and I'll look into it further.
