Downloadable MP3 Files

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Hello,

Is there an option to let the user download each mp3 file individually?

I'm going to have about 20+ sermons on a church website, and I need visitors to be able to download each mp3 file individually if they want to.

Thanks.

I can make this a supported feature.

The Media Library uses an "Allow Download" (true/false) value that would appear in the File Manager when you go to a file's properties. In addition to setting the Title or Description, you could say that downloading is allowed, which creates a download link on the site, and includes the file link in the RSS feed.

Would that sound like a good solution?

If I were to bring that into the Audio Library, do you think that it should be represented by a grey floppy disk icon to the right of the file name, or ... how do you think it should be represented?

That sounds good, would that cost extra?

I don't think a grey floppy is the best. Maybe some sort of downward arrow. You can see what I had on the old version of the site here:
http://gpcc.org/GPCC/page.php?Page=Sermons...

The download button there is on the right side of each file.

So this is exactly what I want to do... I see you have integrated the "allow download" in the properties panel, but I don't understand yet how to make that work.
I know what an RSS feed is of course, but I've never set one up for anything beside blogs before and don't really know how it would look or be like in this case - any help or direction is appreciated.
Where does the link appear/is there a way an individual download link can be put next to the play button or something? Just looking for ideas/a little help on what the best way to make this happen is.

I LOVE your program though (like I said in my review). Great job at making it stable, powerful, and easy to customize!

In case you would like to see where I have it set up right now you can go tohttp://medicimedicine.com/radio-archives... you can use username= testuser and password= testing123

Hi!

The default template does not have download links built in. It would not be terribly difficult to add if you are creating a custom template, but I'll have to think about adding this by default (sorry, I know I said that before. Been investing in my Wordpress for Concrete5 add-on and a new job)

If you set the "Allow Download" property for a file in the file manager, its real link will be exposed in the RSS feed instead of the URL to the page. If there were visible download links, that should also make them appear. I apologize this is not the case.

Let me know if there is more I can do. If I am able to add this feature I will let you know

If I can also buy into this discussion. It would be great to have the download feature integrated into the list of audio files. I have used this Add-On in a website I have built and my client is asking if we can have the option of downloading the file built into the page where the player and play list are.

Is there any possibility that this can be done soon?

Kind regards

Ian

We've created a template that puts a button next to each item in the playlist for people to download that file. If you would like to buy a copy of the template we have made, please message me.

Ok, so I'm new to podcasting. If I set the "allow download" to "yes" in the properties of all of my files... where/how do I find the rss feed link that I can submit to itunes?
I understand coding to include all the meta tags, etc, but I really don't get how to make this work. Does your media player automatically make an rss feed somewhere?

Please help as my client has asked me to make his archives go to podcast asap!

Thank you for your patience with me as a newbie to rss!
