Want to store your files on Azure Blob Storage (Amazon S3 equivalent)? This plugin will allow you to connect your Azure Blob Storage account with Concrete5 and store your files there. Images, PDFs, etc will all load directly from Azure instead of your local server.
Loading your files from a different server speeds up your website load times. This should give you an SEO benefit. You can also attach an Azure CDN to speed up the delivery of your files and modify Cache-Control to help with your Google Pagespeed Insights.
Secondary benefits:
• Developers won’t have to download all file assets locally to view them
• If you store your database on it’s own service, you can now have a disposable installation of Concrete5 that you can destroy and rebuild easily.
• Flexible storage
• Secure
NOTE: The ability to edit an image within the Concrete5 File Manager is broken with non local file storage. You will need to make edits before uploading. Here are some free image editors:
• Krita: https://krita.org/en/
• GNU Image Manipulation Program: https://www.gimp.org/
• Pixlr: https://pixlr.com/
Setup and configuration of a Blob storage account should be left to professionals who know what they are doing. We are not here to set these accounts up for you, nor is that apart of the support we will offer.
