Two ideas for Best Suite (Dashboard Page Managers)

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Just trying this out for the first time and I'm really liking where this is going. Nice work!

I have two ideas that might be helpful.

1) When looking at a list of pages (Page Manager page) there is a cursor pointer when hovering over the name. Nothing happens on click. It would be nice if that defaulted to editing that page in composer.

2) This may be impossible, but if there were a way to have a Page Manager Parent show up in the Dashboard drop-down that would be great. Even better would be to just replace the Composer group. I'm working on creating a single list of the page types for the site under a single Parent page and would love to make it super simple for the client to access that. (Maybe you have a tip about that.)

To follow up on #2... maybe there could be a site toolbar addition putting a button next to Dashboard button (like the Handy Toolbar add-on) and it has its own hover that shows all existing Page Manager pages so from anywhere on the front end the editor can access the right page. That would be super sweet.

I'll have to look into #1, that's leftover from the built in page search which is what I built it on. Normally that would show a context menu, but I wanted to narrow it down a bit with buttons and make sure that it worked on mobile if needed.

#2 I think is built into the core. If you click the * on the top of any dashboard page, then it's added to the drop down. Replacing the entire composer system isn't allowed in the marketplace, at least, I'm pretty sure it's not.

You could make one parent and then add multiple page managers underneath it, maybe 'news articles' and them 'press releases' & 'television interviews' etc.

Not sure about making a custom button for the top, especially since most of that is really changing in the upcoming 5.7 version...

Thanks for your reply!

Cool on #1.

Thanks for the tip on #2. I'd like to set it up that way for any user, and it looks like using the star system is per-user (as it should be). I think there are some other add-ons that automatically add themselves to that menu. Maybe one of ChadStrat's? Can't remember off the top of my head.

I did figure out using one Parent page with multiple Page Managers under it, and then at least I can move the Parent to the top of the Site Map list so it's the top left item in the Dashboard. I'll have job listings, news, maybe some others. Nice to have them in one place.

You've piqued my curiosity about 5.7! I'm not one for fiddling with beta releases so I guess I'll just have to wait.

I removed the 'pointer' cursor highlight and linked the name to the actual page. The -> button on the right links to the page, too.

Wow, thanks for the rapid update!

As an aside, it makes a lot more sense to me to have the page name link to the Edit screen. The Edit button itself feels buried and hard to target considering the primary purpose (my assumption) in the list is to edit the content.
