Clarification of the Create a Page option

Permalink Browser Info Environment
Can someone confirm or deny my understanding of how the Create a Page option for Data Display works?

A user fills out a form and submits it. AF/DD simultaneously saves the content of the form as a record and creates a page in the hierarchy, mapping field data into the title, description, meta fields etc. as configured in the options.

This page is also supposed to have an automatically inserted Data Display block that is associated with the resulting record (which is not working on my site currently, but I can add it manually). So, when accessed by a user, the data is drawn dynamically from the form data.

However, moving forward, the page metadata (title, description, meta keywords, etc.) and the record data are not kept in sync. If the values in those fields are changed in the form fields for a specific record, those values will *not* be changed in the associated page. That is what I'm observing on my system. Is that as designed?

Any insight from experience would be appreciated.

Hi Sheryl,
I posted about adding the block to the page here:http://www.concrete5.org/marketplace/addons/data-display1/support/c...

Regarding editing the record after the form is created, you are right in that it is not setup to change data about the page once the page has been created - or in other words, they are not kept in sync. If this is a feature you need (the option to keep the pages in sync), I can see about adding an option to do so.

Thanks!

Thanks for confirming. For my particular use case, it would be useful to keep the page attributes in sync. Also of interest would be to be able to map fields from my form into corresponding page attributes that I've configured (beyond the standard ones you've already included). So, basically, to be able to maintain the record and robust metadata for the associated page all in one place.

I'm not sure how hard that would be to do, or how useful to others.

As is, your add-on is making some good things possible for our site. Cheers!
