Entering/editing data from (semi-)public pages

Permalink Browser Info Environment
I would like to add a data entry form I've created to a semi-public page, so that our staff can enter/edit records without having to grant them access to the dashboard to do it. In the help tab of the Data Display tab in the dashboard, it says:

" 1. Click on a form’s name in order to display the form.
2. Enter data by filling out the form and submitting it.

Notes:

* You may also allow public users to submit data by copying the form to the scrapbook and putting the form on a public page.

"

I'm presuming a "form" in this case is what functions as a database table. I'm also presuming the "form's name" you're referring to is the name that appears in the list of forms you see when you click on the Advanced Forms tab in the dashboard.

When I click on the form's name, I get the form's PROPERTIES to edit, not a submission form for the data. I think I found where to enter data by clicking a "records" button appearing below the form's name, then clicking on an "Add Record" button that appears above what will eventually be a list of records for that table/"form".

The data entry form comes up in a javascript-generated pop-up window... how do you get that into the scrapbook?

Think I figured it out... insert an Advanced Forms block to the page, and choose the form to add. Must have added this after the help copy was written. :-) This way is much better.

Yeah a lot of the info on the Help page refers to the old version of Data Display. I need to adjust that quite a bit. Thanks for the reminder... ;)
